Shri Y S Mayya has taken over as Chairman & Managing Director of Electronics Corporation of India Limited, Hyderabad, a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy.   He succeeds Shri K S Rajasekhara Rao, who superannuated on 30.04.2009. 

Shri Mayya has been with ECIL as Director (Technical) since September, 2007, In-charge of Business & Technology development activities in Atomic Energy, Space, Security, IT,  Telecom, Control Systems and e-Governance areas.  

Shri Y S Mayya is a B.Tech in Electronics & Communications from Mysore University (1979).  After completing orientation course from BARC Training School in 1980, Shri Mayya joined Reactor Control Division, BARC and was involved in the design & development of Automation and Control Systems of Atomic Energy, Space and Defence Sectors. 

While in BARC, he pioneered the development & deployment of Distributed Systems in Nuclear Reactors & Allied Plants.  He lead design efforts for the realization of Computer Controlled Servo Systems for the Giant Metre Wave Radio Telescope (GMRT) array, vehicle mounted UAV trackers, Antenna Platform Unit for LCA Multi-mode Radar, Stabilization System for Active Radar Seeker for missiles and Antenna Control Servo System for the 32 Metre Deep Space Network Antenna of Chandrayaan– I Programme.

His areas of interest include embedded real-time systems, modeling & simulation of dynamic systems, software analysis & design, distributed systems & networks, inertial navigation and cryptography.
