M8953 Electronic Proximity Fuze

The M8953 is for use on OTO MELARA Standard, Compact and Super Rapid 76/62 Naval Gun Systems. The Fuze can be employed on all HE, HEPFF and practice rounds.

The Fuze has two operational modes:

• Proximity function with Point Detonation Super Quick backup and Self-Destruct mode (Standard mode)
• Point Detonation Super Quick only.

Optional Point Detonation Super Quick action serves as a backup to the time mode.
